Sunset at Sneha Theeram
Sneha Theeram Beach is in Thalikulam, which is a small town on NH 17 . It is 30 Kms from Thrissur. This beach is maintained by KTDC and is one of the best and well maintained beaches of Kerala. There is a small garden and children's park here.
We had been to this this place on Mahanavami day. The place was very crowded being a holiday. Another interesting thing we found was that many people were flying kites. We could find kites designed like seagull and shark.
A wonderful place to spend an evening with family and kids.Better to go there on week days.

Dam of the Demons
Bhoothathankettu is a dam across Periyar River near Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district of kerala. Nearly two kilometer long trek from the dam site will lead you to a place where huge rock formations block the flow of the river Periyar. There is an interesting story about this.
Demons wanted to destroy the nearby Trikkariyoor temple where Lord Shiva is the deity.Their plan was to create a flood by dumping huge rocks on the riverbed to obstruct the flow of the river. They started their work at night. To hamper their activity, Lord Shiva thought of an idea and made sounds of a rooster crowing. Thinking it was daybreak, the demons ran away without being able to complete the dam.
